My fellow classmates:
The cry, "The thrill of victory and the agony of defeat" echoed in my ears this past week. One classmate has a computer that cannot display the BHS65 web site. If one classmate's computer can't read the code then there will be others. It is an error in the way I named the files and folders. The good news is that I can correct the problem. The bad news is that it will take me many hours of dull programming. Time I would prefer and need to spend on more creative activities.I'm not a computer geek (at least that is my self evaluation) and I'm learning programming only to solve a problem. I call it JETDTJ Just Enough To Do The Job.
I designed the web site around Frames. From what I have read recently, the use of Frames is old style web design and not viewable on all computers.I redid the web pages in early March using Tables as the basic format and eliminated Frames. It seems to be working better.
Another problem came today when the Blog crashed. The Blog has been a hot bed of activity this past week. Alice and I checked the Blog every hour in the evenings as classmates from all over the country posted comments. That was a thrill! The defeat came when the Blog became overloaded with comments and crashed. I had to delete 70 of the 100 comments. Comments that meant so much to many classmates. My solution is to create new volumes of the Anything Goes Post and archiving old ones.
It's been a roller coaster ride this past month. If you like roller coaster, as I do, then you would understand that I would have it no other way.
Best regards,
